Dividing Rational Expressions

Dividing Rational Expressions

In this module we will learn to Divide Rational Expressions

Recall:
To divide two fractions, change the divide sign to multiply and take the reciprocal of the second fraction.
Example: 2/3 ÷ 4/6 ⇒ 2/3 x 6/4 ⇒ 12/12 = 1.

When dividing rational expressions, we need to use the same rule: flip the second fraction and change the divide sign to multiply. Then multiply straight across the top and straight across the bottom to get the answer. Simplify the answer if possible.

Please review the Multiplying Rational Expressions module before proceeding.
