Multiplying Fractions

In order to multiply two fractions, mutliply straight across.
Meaning, multiplying the two numbers on the top gives you the answer on the top,
and multiplying the two numbers on the bottom gives you the answer on bottom.

(Recall: The number on the top of a fraction is called the 'numerator.'
The number on the bottom of a fraction is called the 'denominator.')

Rule: To multiply two fractions, multiply straight across. This gives you the answer.

Usually, because of what you will learn in Algebra 1 and beyond, you will always "simplify" the answer.

To simplify a fraction, divide the answer's numerator and denominator by any number that leaves no remainder.
