The Triangle Sum

For every triangle, the sum of the angles inside of the triangle will always equal 180°.

triangle sum sum

In order to use the triangle sum, you must know two of the three angle's degrees.
To get the answer, add the two angle degrees that you know, then subtract that total from 180°.

This will be your answer.

Example 1:
example 1
42° + 56° + c° = 180°   Triangle Sum Formula
98° + c° = 180°       Add the two angles you know
c° = 180° - 98°     Solve for x° by subtracting the total from 180°
c° = 82°      Answer

Check your answer:
a° + b° + c° = 180°    Triangle Sum Formula
42° + 56° + 82° = ?    Add all three answers together
180° ☆    Verify that all three angles add to equal 180°.
